Hawke's Bay

New Zealand Technology Group Hawkes Bay

The first fully fledged office to be established in the regions, New Zealand Technology Group Hawke’s Bay combines the best of local ideas, skills and resources in the ICT industry.

Putting the power back into the hands of local business has proven to be a successful business model. Instead of small local businesses competing with the big city corporates, New Zealand Technology Group brings together the best of the local IT and telecommunications talent to deliver trusted and comprehensive services to the region.

This poses great economic potential for the area as New Zealand Technology Group companies are able to deliver full end-to-end ICT services to local businesses, allowing them to not only grow, but flourish.

If you own an IT or telecommunications business, or have services that you think you can offer the industry, then start a conversation with us now, and grow your business and customer base.

About Don

Select one of our partners above to find out more

Don started Internet Hawke’s Bay in 1989, which puts Don at the very forefront of the internet revolution in NZ, even before Telecom latched onto its potential.

By 2007, Internet Hawke’s Bay had become WASP, the largest wireless network servicing the Central North Island area.

By then Don had amassed relationships with many businesses throughout Hawke’s Bay and beyond, providing the region with the most sophisticated wireless broadband available.

Don’s search for better bandwidth supply, more support and better services brought him in front of New Zealand Technology Group in 2011. Since then WASP has been able to widen its repertoire of services on offer to its customers. With a rich and varied past in engineering and a drive to make things happen, Don is also able to offer back to NZTG a wealth of knowledge and expertise, and in 2015 WASP became one of its first regional partners.

With an unabashed passion for computing, Don has over time built up his own computer museum. And when his love for the digital world needs some balance, he’ll be out fishing.

Bruce found his way through the IT game working at the Whanganui DHB, and later on at the Hawke’s Bay DHB.

As you might expect, the state of outdated and badly configured IT infrastructure at DHBs back in those days required some serious commitment, and it was Bruce and his team that managed to get things sorted out.

Bruce’s responsibilities included migrating all the data and users onto new servers, replacing outdated infrastructure, changing file systems as required, and writing a lot of the scripts that are still in use today.

He was also responsible for purchasing the firewall for Hawke’s Bay DHB, traveling the country looking at the available options before purchasing, configuring and managing access of the firewalls once in place.

Prior to purchasing Neocom in 2012, Bruce was the IT manager for Fastway Couriers, developing systems for the nationwide courier network to help automate and streamline the services between the customer, the van and the depot.

Bruce enjoys taking the time to make things right. He has his sights set on larger, more intricate IT problem solving and development, and joined New Zealand Technology Group to offer his expertise to the Group and expose Neocom to a wider audience and potentially larger IT problems he can sink his teeth into.

In his own time, Bruce can be found on the rugby field supporting the Hawke’s Bay Magpies and Saracen Development team with a video camera and either water or beer... depending on which end of the game is at hand. And when the season is over, he devotes his spare time to his grand children.
